Until Further Notice - Melissa Schroeder

Until Further Notice

This year has not been kind to my body. Since the last trip to Orlando, I have not been able to shake the pain in my back. This isn’t normally what I go through and the only thing that helps is bed rest.  Because of that, I won’t be around much.  I need to reserve my strength until they figure out what is going on. I can’t keep going on this way. I hate not being able to interact with readers and other authors, but even my online time will be cut short over the next few months. I have been pushing myself and can’t keep doing that.

As of right now, I will have my releases out on time, Logan and A Little Harmless Secret, but I will have to wait to announce dates for further releases. I have to see just how much I will be able to write and if surgery is going to come into play. All that seems to help is rest and telling a Type A like me to rest is like telling a normal person to cut off his or her arm.

The Shifted Mates bundle has been put off for two weeks which is all on me. The other three authors had their books ready, but sitting up and editing and formatting is taking me forever because I can only sit up for so long. I do apologize that readers have to wait two weeks because of me.

I should be able to make the Fredrick Book Festival at the end of this month because it is within an hour of my house. After that, it is all up in the air. I wanted to tell y’all because I am not sure   I will be relying heavily on my husband and my PA Sheri to do a lot of my online things. Also, I will still be having my Anniversary Blog Hop. (if you are an author sign up here).

I will update as soon as I have more news. Thank you all for understanding and for all the wonderful emails wishing me healing thoughts.

  11. Sending healing thoughts and a big hug! Get well soon, that is the most important right now.

  12. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. My husband suffers with his back from an injury. The only thing these last few years that seems to help is his inversion table. He tells people it is the best $200 he has spent. He bought the Nordic Tract brand at Sears. It’s large, but even our daughter who was in a roll over car wreck 5 years ago comes over and hangs upside down when she is in pain. It takes the pressure off the affected disc.

  13. Mel, Saying prayers & sending healing karma to you. Important thing is that you get better! Take it easy, do what they tell you and DO NOT PUSH so hard you hurt yourself further. We’re all praying & pulling for you. <3 O X

  16. Spinal pain is dreadful. Have had 2 ops(1 experimental surgery) on my cervical spine, what a difference they made to my life. Post op pain managed purely with paracetamol (Tylenol in US). They restored feeling and use of my arms. Research carefully and choose the best surgeon for a particular op. Hope all goes well.

  17. No one really understands constant pain unless you’ve experienced it. Head on collision with 2 babies in the car, cracked my 4week olds head in half. That was 22 yrs ago, they said I’d never work again. I’ve learned ice is the best when the back is inflamed. I’ve learned to keep my stress levels and yelling to a minimum. The muscles that supports the back spaz out , the pain comes. Unfortunately there’s no surgery that will help me and I have to put the years in to work so one day I’ll be able to get disability. I was tired of my family having to cut outings short because I couldn’t walk ,so I got a wheelchair.I pray there’s a surgery that will get you up and moving again. Do your best to fight depression. Keep writing your AWESOME books, if you ever need a support system that has been fighting for yrs, I’m an email away.God Bless
