News and updates

Well, it has been a crazy week, but what week isn’t crazy with my life? I did a lot of thinking this week-and not all of it was about how word problems are tools of the devil. As many of you know, I have some health issues. I am doing MOSTLY what I am supposed to do. There is one aspect I have never been good at: cutting back at work. I need to do that without teaching the youngest, but with that added in, I need to make sure I don’t overdo it. That means looking at the schedule and coming to some hard realizations. One is that for right now, I can’t do new releases once a month. It just isn’t possible. I am also going to hold off on the new series, Savannah Heat, until next year. It is something I really wanted to start now and have a HUGE ad in RT next month too, but I just can’t. I also have a few rereleases that will be coming out in the next few months. I will have a post later on about that.  So, with that in mind, here is the new schedule of releases:

Now I know some people are not going to be happy with me pushing back Angus a bit. One reason is that I need to make sure that Craving and Relentless are linked. The beginning of the latter starts in the epilogue of the former. So, I think some people will not be happy with me if I push it back until next fall lol.

There is another thing I am worried about. I CAN write these books and have them out once a month but they will suck. Okay, not all of them would, but it would make me rush. I don’t want to do that. I want to continue my quality work and work harder to make them even better. I have been talking to the ADDICTS about how ALH Fantasy will be between 75000-90000. To compare, A Little Harmless Fascination was 63000. And I think it will be in the 80K area. So it will be quite a bit longer. I will also look at expanding the military books by about 10-20K more, expanding on the stories more:)

The Cursed Clan and By Blood are labors of love. I love to work on all my books, but these are books I write just cuz I want to. So they will take a back seat to Harmless for awhile.

All of these are subject to change, of course. I will be posting the release dates for the bundles soon too! I hope that everyone understands that I had to do this. I want to make sure the quality stays high and that I don’t end up in the hospital.

  1. Melissa,
As always your health needs to be first and foremost! Then it should be family! We all understand and will be “patiently” waiting for any and all new releases!!!! Can’t rush quality writing and thats why we love your stories so much. Just stay well and teach those kiddos everything you know and remember the Addicts will be here to support you! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

  2. You need to take care of yourself first. Without you, we won’t get ANY more books. I’m sending you positive energy.

  3. I concur with prior posted remarks … and who am I to quibble since I haven’t managed to write a productive word in WAY over 18 months? You do what you need to do for you, your family, and your health … we will be waiting with baited breath and a tall drink when you are able to finish 🙂

  4. Yes, we are all in agreement your health is always first and of course your family. You do what you have to.We can wait and know when we get your next story it will be fabulous as always.

  5. We would have no complaints to changing your schedule… We all want you to be healthy! It takes its toll on the body when you go non-stop.
As an Addict, you know we will always request more, but we also know that it is a process. And we don’t want you giving us anything you aren’t happy with (no matter how much we complain!) So take care of yourself and we will still be here when the books come!

  6. Take care of yourself first we, Addicts, will be here waiting for you. Your health comes first. You don’t take care of yourself, your work will suffered. Be good to your self. Thanks for all you do.
