Aloha Friday #1! - Melissa Schroeder

Aloha Friday #1!

Since I have vowed to become more active on the blog, one thing I want to do is have a few kinds of different theme posts. To start off, I thought I would go with the obvious, Aloha Friday. For those of you not familiar with the term, Aloha Friday, it is the island way of saying get ready for the weekend. It will feature all kinds of things, ie, links, recipes, pics…and some Hawaiian giveaways will be featured:)

This week, I am going to feature the Luau and my favorite place to go on Oahu for one is Paradise Cove. They are the best IMHO. But, one of the things I am starting to research are the male dancers. Danny Aiona, the youngest of the Aiona clan, is working at Paradise Cove to help pay for his college and save up for medical school. His book, A Little Harmless Wager, will feature an older African American heroine.

For people who have never been to a Luau, Paradise Cove goes all out. Starts with the greeting, along with a pic for your entire party with a pretty female dancer and one for their hunky male dancers. Then, you get to spend time in the village playing games, and looking at the beautiful surrounding scenery. There is the Imu Ceremony then dinner and the show. It makes for a fantastic time. If you are on Oahu, it is the one place I would insist for sure you go. And get a Lava Flow. They make them the best.

Want to win some Hawaiian swag? How about an Hawaiian key chain, some kono beads, and some harmless swag? All you have to do is tell me what you think would be your favorite part of the Luau?Β Answer in the comments. Everyone is eligible as long as I can ship to your country.

You have until 8 am Monday morning, the third, central time, to answer. I will pick the name using Random.org. Good Luck.
