A Santini Takes the Fall - Melissa Schroeder

A Santini Takes the Fall

Releasing July 14th

As I work on A Santini Takes the Fall  (preorder now and read the first chapter)and get it ready for publication, I wanted to share some of the music that inspired my writing of the book. I listened to some of the Santini favorites, and my own. I see the Santini books and many of my military books, as overly romantic. I love writing all my books, but I get really warm fuzzies when I am writing their stories. I think it is like visiting family or really great friends in a way. The characters themselves rarely hide from me.
Songs that featured bit were Hoozier’s Take Me to Church, John Legend’s Take Me to Church, and various Hawaiian singers I have featured on my blog and talked about on social media. Since Lalani is half Hawaiian and half African American–and a dancer–that featured big in this one. But, these two songs just make me think of Anthony and Lalani: But, these two songs just make me think of Anthony and Lalani:
First up is Darius Rucker. I have a connection to him, that maybe he doesn’t know lol. Our first duty station was Shaw AFB in South Carolina and our oldest daughter was born there. Right at that time, Hootie and Blowfish exploded and they are South Carolina boys. The state went insane. I can still remember my little girl dressed in a onesie dancing to Only Wanna be with You. So, Darius makes a lot of my writing soundtracks and this one is from his newest album. It’s called Perfect.

Tim McGraw. That’s all I should have to say, but I will say more. This man’s sexy voice is on almost every one of my writing soundtracks. There is just something about the songs he sings and the way he sings them that inspire my writing. The moment I heard this song, I knew it was Anthony and Lalani’s song.
