Constance Merryweather sighed when she saw the dead rat on her doorstep. Taking a sip of coffee, she leaned against the doorjamb then offered her cat a nasty look over the rim of her cup.
“I understand you don’t like living here, but I didn’t invite you. In fact, I believe I remember telling you to leave me the hell alone.”
